She believes that women can be mothers and have career, but first change must come from the government and traditional attitudes. She thinks the passage of the ERA and federal aid daycare are two things needed. She stated that homemakers underestimate their worth and laws that do protect them. She goes on to discuss how women are discriminated against in jobs for fear that she might get pregnant. She encourages women who have sex discrimination to bring their case to the Equal Employment Opporunity Commission. |

"Court Allows Abortion Ads" The Supreme Court struck down state laws forbbing newspapers to publish ads for legal abortions. Justice Harry A. Blackmun stated that the First Amendment was violated by Virginia law that barred publications of abortions because it might encourage them. This revised a court ruling agianst Jeffery Biglon, who had an underground paper that had an ad for an abortion clinic in New York. He was proscuted but the Supreme Court stated that this ad was not just commerical but benefical for the public and they advertised for legal ones tha could help pregnant mothers. |
