We see Black-crowned Night-Heron at least 11 times a year. Between 1996 and 2008, we've seen Black-crowned Night-Heron at 63 different locations.

Mary returned from her first birding class talking about this bird, calling it Disney-like; the hunched-over posture, the gleaming red eye. We first decided to purchase binoculars on an early outing when we couldn't distinguish between a night heron and a styrofoam meat tray.
